Just to let you know, we will probably delete this post within minutes of your seeing it.
If you do a search for his name (or his wife’s) on Twitter or Tumblr you’ll understand why. Some things and some people are just stupid trolls.
We think the world of everyone on Doctor Who and just like all of you, we feel the love and frustration and everything in between. But that’s why we love this show. If every character, every story went exactly as we thought it would, it’d be like most American broadcast television — incredibly dull.
We don’t say that Moffat is brilliant because we have this job. We took this job because we trust Moffat, we trust the cast, and we trust the writers to keep us guessing.
Nine was ‘our Doctor’ in New Who. We’ve watched ‘Rose’ at least 12 times and ‘Blink’ at least 40. We don’t care much for ‘Love and Monsters’ but something makes us stop and watch every time it comes on the air. We think ‘The Eleventh Hour’ was an ingenius way of introducing a new Doctor. Why? Because we love this show. We were huge fans of New Who during RTD and we’re even bigger fans now.
No matter which Doctor or which series you start with, it’s impossible to not make a connection with it. Who becomes your show. And when get to know the fandom, you know that no matter how upset or frustrated you get over a character, Who doesn’t just belong to you. Who belongs to all of us. So for any one of us to go after a showrunner because that one person didn’t get what they feel entitled to as a fan is as anti-Whovian as you can get. That’s just our opinion.
And by stating our opinion, we’re probably breaking a wall here. It isn’t the kind of thing we’re supposed to do. We just wanted to express our frustration. Just this once.
